Giles Standing is a heritage professional, currently living and working in Sussex, in the south of England. A graduate of the Universities of London and Cambridge, he has worked in curatorial and visitor services roles in cultural organisations including the Museum of London, The Royal Pavilion, Brighton, and Arundel Castle, Sussex.
He has a broad range of skills, from project and events management, museum display and guided tours, to academic publication and popular presentation. He is motivated to share his knowledge and passion for the past, notably in the fields of historic buildings and archaeology.
Objective
To work in a management role within the heritage sector, particularly in the field of museums and historic houses, giving an opportunity to inspire and communicate information to visitors, to lead dedicated teams of skilled enthusiasts and professionals, and to care for and promote the rich diversity of cultural resources in the UK.
